We specialise in teacher training that providing a flexible and consistent approach to effectively manage difficult and disruptive behaviour, that also improves self-regulation and emotional well-being in students.

We facilitate professional development in classroom behaviour management for teachers, teacher assistants, & primary & secondary schools in WA and NT.

We will equip one or all of your teachers with the necessary practical skills and a set of responses to help children improve self-control, so they can learn to respond more flexibly and calmly in the educational setting. We also place high importance on staff well-being.

Behaviour Management Professional Development for Teachers and Education Assistants

This training and support package provides teachers and education assistants (teacher aides/assistants) with the knowledge and practical skills to respond more calmly and effectively to students' difficult behaviour and emotional upsets as they happen in the classroom and playground.  Over time, teacher responses will improve student self-regulation and self-control.

Four Ways can be implemented successfully by an individual teacher in a single classroom or as a part or whole school approach, where all teachers and teaching assistants have completed the professional learning.

Four Ways supports neurodiverse children, including those with ADHD, Autism and Anxiety.

Teacher Training Options:

All webinars of our behaviour training for teachers will be recorded and made available to registrants only. If you do not attend the live event, then our LMS platform will track your viewing progress. Certificates will only be sent to those who have completed the course. Recordings will be paused at the end for confidentiality of Q&A time.

All PD sessions include training that equips educators with the practical skills and resources to implement the program simply and seamlessly. Accessing our teacher professional development in WA & NT:
Like most, we have a preference to provide teacher professional development face-to-face and will travel to you. However, if completing teacher PD online is beneficial or more convenient, we can provide a live webinar training package tailored to your needs.  This webinar package can also include follow-up onsite consultancy and coaching.

Professional Standards for Teachers in Western Australia and nationally

The Four Ways training relates to the following professional teaching standards:

Standard 1 – Know students and how they learn
Standard 3 - Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
Standard 4 – Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
Standard 6 – Engage in professional learning
Standard 7 - Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community

Graduate and Proficient Teachers – The Four Ways PL will comprehensively address the needs of teachers at a graduate and proficient levels in the above standards.
Highly Accomplished Teachers – The Four Ways PL will also enable these teachers to refine their repertoire of behaviour support skills and apply their learnings to strategically model the Four Ways approach thereby establishing a culture of positive and inclusive learning strategies that promote self-regulation, self-awareness, problem solving, and critical thinking in their classrooms and amongst their peers.
Lead Teachers – The Four Ways PL will also enhance the capacity of Lead teachers to influence the practice of others, by modelling and coaching to embed a Four Ways culture at a team and/or whole school level, and the broader school community.

We have published a document that specifically maps the Four Ways professional learning program and its classroom resources against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL). This document is intended to help teachers, school leaders and accreditation bodies see how participation in Four Ways Professional Learning and its implementation contributes to evidence against the relevant standards.

Supporting Anxious Students

Discover practical, targeted strategies for supporting anxiety in students. Move beyond the “anxiety” label to understand what’s really happening. This training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognise where anxiety originates in the brain and use that understanding to select the most effective support strategies.

1-2-3 Magic & Emotion Coaching

Available on Request

Learn practical skills to respond calmly and effectively to student’s difficult behaviour and emotional upsets as they happen in the classroom and playground.  Over time, teacher responses will improve student self-regulation and self-control.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • One-day professional learning with experts who have extensive knowledge and practical experience working with this program.
  • Knowledge and procedures to introduce and implement 1-2-3 Magic® & Emotion Coaching in a single classroom or across a whole school.
  • A training manual containing course notes and lesson plans.
  • Resources to assist with introducing & implementing the program.
  • A ‘Certificate of Completion’ stating PD hours for TRB (7hrs).
